Cash trading accounts require a $1,000 minimum deposit and you’ll need to put in $2,000 if you want margin privileges. To qualify for their 100 commission-free trades, a $5,000 deposit is required. There is no minimum account balance to take advantage of the low $3.95 commissions.

How To Open an OptionsHouse Account

Opening an OptionsHouse account was a fairly straightforward process. If you need to send in paperwork (common with transfers or IRA accounts), expect to fax or mail these documents.

OptionsHouse Review

OptionsHouse is hands-down the least expensive online broker. Trades cost just $3.95 even broker-assisted. We also love their no-fee IRA accounts, making them a great place to keep your retirement stocks. If you are a do-it-yourself investor, there’s little reason to pay more than you have to for trades.

OptionsHouse has received several accolades from Barron’s, the authority in trading news, including “Best for Options Traders” for three years in a row (2010, 2011, and 2012). Certainly, if you’re trading options, this is the place to be. Their flexible options pricing gives serious options-traders the chance to save.

Free streaming quotes and solid trading tools keep you well informed, and solid customer serivce including 24/7 chat abilities are available to help with your account. On the downside, OptionsHouse does not accept international customers and their after-hours trading window is shorter than some competitors.
